CBIA Health Connections Carrier Appointments and Certification

Carrier Appointments

According to Connecticut law, a producer's authority to act as an agent for any particular carrier may not be activated until the carrier's Application for Appointment of the producer as its agent has been approved by the Connecticut Insurance Department. It is unlawful for a producer to solicit business prior to completion of the agent appointment process.

In order for commissions to be paid, all producers who sign applications must maintain a current Connecticut Health/Life license and be appointed with all CBIA Health Connections partners. If commissions are payable to the producer’s affiliated agency, that agency must maintain a current Connecticut Health/Life license and be appointed as well as the writing agent.
