Group vs. Voluntary Insurance

Group dental plans require an employer to either pay 100% of the premium or a portion of the premium with the balance paid by employees.

They require employers to have at least 40% of eligible employees participate in the program. If the employer is paying a portion of the premium, the employee portion is collected pretax through payroll deduction.

Voluntary dental insurance premiums are paid 100% by employees. These plans help employers keep benefit costs down while allowing employees to buy benefits at group rates with the convenience of payroll deductions.

CBIA Health Connections offers a variety of affordable group dental insurance plans through Ameritas. These plans are exclusive to CBIA and offer a choice of plans with or without orthodontic coverage.
