Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I am used to personalized service. Will I get that kind of service with the CBIA program?

A: Absolutely! The CBIA program is marketed to employers but is sold and serviced to individuals. You will not be lost in the crowd! Your CBIA representative is eager to serve you and you’re always welcome to call or visit our office at 350 Church St. in Hartford.

Q: Are the policies issued through CBIA as good as my present Home and Auto Insurance?

A: Travelers, Safeco, MAPFRE, Progressive, and ASI are all A+ “Superior” rated companies by A.M. Best, one of the governing standards of the insurance industry. They all use the standardized policy wording that most other companies use. Also, policies are filed and approved by the State Insurance Department. Most policies written with the above carriers can duplicate or improve upon your present coverage at considerably less cost to you!

Q: Who is eligible for this employee benefit?

A: This new benefit is available to all employees of CBIA member companies.

Q: What happens to my insurance coverage if I change employers or retire?

A: The policy price and coverage is completely portable. Coverage remains in effect.

Q: Do I have to enroll at a certain time to start saving?

A: You may obtain a no obligation quote at any time to determine your savings with CBIA Discounted Home and Auto Program. Since there is no enrollment period, you can time your policy to start when your current policy expires. If you want to start saving right away, we’ll help you arrange the cancellation of your current policies.
